the measure of our tollerance
if we pride ourselve on tollerance
is how well we tollerate
those who do not tollerate
us

I went to a MAPJ [Manhattan Alliance for Peace and Juatice] meeting with my Dad tonight. I expressed this concept --sort of my personal moto for situations like MAPJ-- and I liked the way I worded it this time arround (though I have said it many times) it sounded sort of poetic for me. so this poem was not written today, it just evoled today
I'm good with that as being a poem for the day, but just on case you arent hers an all new one off the top of my head:
************ ******************
I have been to the place where the young people
gather with the old people
and I stood between them
unclaimed by either side
I have been to the place where the liberal left
faces the religious right
and I stood between them
unclaimed by either side
I have reached for the common humanity
that makes us all
more alike than we are diverse.
and been cast out.
********** ***********
(I find MAPJ both inspiring and depressing.)

It's a good poem. Concise. But still plesant.
