pop tab necklace WIP

I'll probably scrap some of these later. I'm not sure the right category for them...sort of beads, sort of weaving...metal..fabric...hmmm.

this project was inspired by a photo by DA friend which involved pull tabs. it reminded me of a chain mail vest I had made as a teenager of the old style tabs. I got to wondering what I could make from these new ones. this is what I came up with.

this picture is to show materials used in the making of it. and how the ribbon is woven through.

this started out to be a bracelet, I decided it was too stiff for a bracelet, tried an arm band, and decided to go on for a choker necklace. next picture shows me wearing it as intended, and the one after shows it worn as a crown.
