This tree stands near the spot where Joseph Smith fell from the second story window of Carthage Jail where he died as a martyr.
he went "as a Lamb to the slaughter" to this jail for a false charge, unafraid to die, for his God, and His people. He died here to bring the gospel to the world in these Latter Days.

for more information on the Church he helped establish. [link]

Christianity's not a religion like all the others, it's a relationship with the One who created us through His love, even died for us on the cross, taking away our sins; and proving He is God by raising from the dead! :new: [link]

Always nice to find a picture like this online. And always fun to find a fellow church-member.

I love this picture.:D

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; and Patience for his moods. Because, Lord, if I pray for Strenght, I'll beat him to death.
AMEN

This is the best kind of person to talk to: someone who is willing to take an honest look at the evidence. Being willing is essential. Evidence cannot convince the unwilling.

I couldn't agree more. I haven't been there since the new Temple was built though. :(

LOL! Point. My personal favorite looks wise is the San Diego temple, followed very closely by the Jordan River Temple. The're so beautiful and pure...

But I'd really like to see Navoo.

Wonderful photograph. I really want to visit that site soon. Maybe this coming summer we'll manage to go. We went through Missouri once going up to pick up our children from an interrupted visit to my grandparents--my grandfather's brother died a few days after they got there--and the Fantastic Caverns were on our way, but not Carthage. Next time, I'm sure we'll make the 'pilgrimage' and I'm glad to find this photo and you!

don't introduce a person you know to be vindictive, however much you love her, to both your secrets and your parents. :sigh:
