This tree stands near the spot where Joseph Smith fell from the second story window of Carthage Jail where he died as a martyr.
he went "as a Lamb to the slaughter" to this jail for a false charge, unafraid to die, for his God, and His people. He died here to bring the gospel to the world in these Latter Days. for more information on the Church he helped establish. [link] like this tree,we seek to plant our roots in holy ground Comments
 wow, it's always nice to visit famous places, this is really cool
 -- Christianity's not a religion like all the others, it's a relationship with the One who created us through His love, even died for us on the cross, taking away our sins; and proving He is God by raising from the dead!  [link] Always nice to find a picture like this online. And always fun to find a fellow church-member.
I love this picture. -- Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; and Patience for his moods. Because, Lord, if I pray for Strenght, I'll beat him to death. AMEN  Been there, during the 150th anneversery. LOVED it.

We went through Missouri once going up to pick up our children from an interrupted visit to my grandparents--my grandfather's brother died a few days after they got there--and the Fantastic Caverns were on our way, but not Carthage. Next time, I'm sure we'll make the 'pilgrimage' and I'm glad to find this photo and you!
